Woodlands (Marsiling and Admiralty)
Woodlands Town is at the district 25
and located at northern portion of the island facing the Straits of Johore and before Sembawang Town.
It is of the four regional centres proposed under the Singapore Concept Plan.
It can be considered as a fourth town which is just developed
since the early 1971. It covers around 1,200 hectares of
land with around 35% occupied for residential purpose, 15% for industrial usages,
others mostly used for the nature reserve or undevelopment usages.
Woodlands
served by three MRT station, that is Admiralty , Woodlands and Marsiling
MRT station and is also accessible by the Bukit Timah Expressway.
The famous shopping mall
here is Causeway Point Shopping Centre which is beside to Woodlands MRT
and Bus Interchange. The Woodlands Regional Community
Library, Woodlands Civic Centre, SATA Woodlnads Clinic and
Sembawang TC Civic Centre Branch also can be found over here.
There are two parks there, that are Woodlands Town PArk East, Woodlands Town Garden
and Reginal Park. The famous Singpaore Sports School also
can be found over here.
Because of its distance from the city centre,
Woodlands Town would have to be more self-sufficient than other new towns although
it has the advantage of the catchment from Johore Bahru.
The recently announcement of Southern Johore New Economic Programme will be effected
the development direction of Woodlands for next 20 year.

The majority of the flats at Woodlands
are 4-room and 5-room. There are one of the estate
which has many pure Jumbo flats (Block 111-128, 133-142, 301-308, 320-331, 336-345,

with minimum 5 bedrooms, built-in area around 151 - 192m2.
For private residential properties, Woodgrove Condo, Woodsvale and Northoaks are
the newest(TOP on 2001/2004) high-class condominium
in this area. Other high-class condominium are Casablanca, Rosewood, Marsiling Apartments and etc.

There are three MRT stations in this district, Admiralty , Woodlands and Marsiling MRT station.
The largest northern Bus Interchange also available beside the Woodlands MRT station.

Sembawang TC Civic Centre Branch are just opposite the Causeway Point Shopping Centre
which is beside to Woodlands MRT and Bus Interchange station.
